Our objective for every expungement we handle is to provide the client with an expungement that is fully baked. By “fully baked,” we mean that the judge has signed the expungement order, that we have served a copy of the signed order upon all required agencies, that New Jersey State Police has acknowledged receipt of the signed order, and that the expunged event does not show up on a court or police record search, including a search with the FBI.

We take this expression, “fully baked,” from a 1967 movie, “The Graduate.” During their first date, protagonist Benjamin Braddock seems to hit it off pretty well with Elaine Robinson (after he takes her to a striptease show). But then he tells her the truth about his affair with her mother and all bets are off. She disappears back to Berkeley, he goes back to the pool until he eventually decides he's going to marry Elaine. Ben tells his father who, initially, is enthusiastic about the plan. But on father's questioning about how he proposed, Ben nonchalantly tells father that he hasn't asked her yet. Father's initial enthusiasm turns to concern, says that this plan seems half-baked. “Oh no. It's fully baked,” is Ben's reply. Well, as mentioned above, our expungements are fully baked.
